I sat in the Blue Fox CafĂ©, stunned by the information that had just entered my head and was trying desperately to integrate itself into my knowledge base. Prior to the French Toast, my concept of the internet had been elusive. Similar to God, the Internet was there and useful, but so…virtual.
This summer, I found my computer. I am in awe. I am fascinated. Every time I sit down on my swivel chair, and face the screen, I get this silly beam on my face. Of course this approbation was not out of the blue: I am an excellent word processor, maintain many email relationships, and have purchased a total of two (2) items online.
At that breakfast, a friend of mine had explained the function of servers in maintaining the intangible Net, and things began to make sense. Cautiously I explored the blogs of my new friends and began to anxiously await updates, still a spectator, resisting entanglement. Then I was fired.
GLS expedited my techosity from observer/light user to active participant in 5 easy steps. I became the creator/proprietor of an online store and while I didn’t know it then, I had finally seen a server. I was nearly holding the Internet in my hands.
Since breakfast and unemployment, my admiration, use and facility of computers has increased steadily. It has been like following an unspecified recipe, each ingredient coming from a different location, each combining to produce a large, fluffy, moist Internet cake. Blogs, HTML, and Merchant Accounts. The timer went off a couple of days ago, when I became Sarah Thompson (The Matcher). That just takes the cake.

Leaving
I'm leaving for Toronto on Tuesday, so we're going out on Monday to 80's night at Lucky Bar. We'll probably get there at about 10, 10:30.

The Arm in Four Fotos or Less
After our epic journey to Salmon Arm through Smokey Kelowna, we managed to polish off a bottle of wine each with Grant's parents. The next day, we were required to pose for millions of family photos, because who knows when we'll all be together again!
Grant n' Kate.
Once again, the "getting there" was what we had trouble with. Family photos took priority over getting to the wedding on time, so it was a race trying to get from one side of salmon arm to the other. And then we had to try to climb over a truck to get there.
Pickemup Truck
But we looked good, so it was alright.
Kate Sandwich
And then, 7 hours later, we were still smiling. Even more perhaps?
Lola n' Kate Mid Party
I've said it before and I'll say it again: what a fantastic road trip.
(***Secretary's note: still working to greatify my blog. Bear with me.)

GAH
So. Blogging, eh? Perhaps I would be more inclined if I had a more beautiful blog? So the question is, to blog or to beautify. I think that I will go with posting, just so that there is something fresh up there.
The countdown to Toronto has begun. It started with saying goodbye to Grant, a quick and not immediatly painful experience that took place yesterday infront of Aunt Marg's (4605 48b St.), and now the rush is on to get through my multi page to-do list.
Salmon Arm was fabulous: the hilites were Wakeboarding (dude, like super fun) and My Big Hair. If I had a more dynamic blog, I'd show you what I'm talking about. Thanks to Nick and Lola for making me laugh a thousand times and driving me through the fire. Love you both.

And it has begun...Either I have been fully converted, or have simply lacked the courage to go against suggestion.
Notes on ones first blog post:
- Shit it doesn't have spell check.
- Will every post feel this elating?
- What could I possibly have to say that would interest the rest of the Human Race (because I have confidence that each individual will visit my blog at least once).
- It can only be up hill from here.
Welcome to the world of Kate.
